Celeberties

I have semi established my choice to the question, "If you could spend the day with a celebrity who would it be?" It's a tie between Jake Gyllenhaal and Jennifer Aniston. Jake because he is so attractive it is ridiculous and Jen because I've always loved her, no clue why, but I do. They were in the movie "The Good Girl" together and I can't believe I haven't seen it yet! It's on my movie list. Man I sure love these two.

The door

Preface:

Some culprit on our floor has been vandalizing our door, stealing our names and writing things on our decorations... just messing it all up. It was funny at first but we are on our last straw with these people. We've been collecting evidence and have some suspects. check it out.

So basically, this whole past week I've been working on a presentation with three other girls from my leap class.  It was pretty rough trying to work out three college students schedules so that we could all work together.  I think there were only two times when we were all able to meet but we worked on rotations haha! Anyway we spent SO much time on this. The idea of the presentation was to research and find reasons to support Belgium's actions in the 1994 Rwandan Genocide. Before we started we were under the impression that Belgium was totally at fault and created the whole Genocide but after spending so much time doing research and formulating an argument I'm completely in support of Belgium. CRAZY. I learned a lot about stuff that I will probably never need to use again but we made an incredible presentation.  I took the responsibility to write the speech for our presentation. I used a ton of Rhetoric and made a really good argument.  I'm actually pretty impressed with myself, not to sound dumb, but I am. :)

Here is a video of the last night we worked on it we had spent 6 straight hours putting it together so it was time to do something to take our minds off it for a short time. I said, "hey guys lets film us having a competition on who can spin around the longest." I was expecting some weird looks and a idea shut down but they both said, "okay!" at the same time.  Haha! We, especially myself, look retarded but if you're bored take a look. ha. (when i watched it on the blog the picture was going way faster than the sound so i don't know if it'll do that for you but whatever... you can get the idea :))

Attitude of Gratitude

The long awaited thanksgiving break has finally come! The Barnard (provo) Thanksgiving was a success. My Grandmother was able to come spend the holiday with us which was really nice. Joe and I both came down from Salt Lake to stay the rest of the week/weekend and so far it has been a bumpin party. Let me tell you a little about my great thanksgiving day today. I woke up at 10:00 (the perfect time), helped get food ready, ate until I wanted to burst, went on a walk with my Dad, watched a movie with the Family, watched a Beyonce special on ABC, and now here I am creating a blog post. It has definitely been a good thanksgiving day and I'm thankful for that. Have a happy thanksgiving, lets all give a little thanks this year :)

Top 5 things I'm grateful for include:

1. My parents and the fact that I grew up in a stable and safe home.
2. Siblings, though we're spread out all over, they are there.
3. A healthy and fully functioning body.
4. A testimony of the LDS church teachings.
5. The best friends I've had over the years.

Time.
Don't think too hard, you'll freak yourself out.
There are 24 hours in one day.
What am I doing with what seems like so much yet so little time?
How much time is left?
Hour Glass...
When does the sand run out?
Scary.
I can't see how much is left!!
Hopefully a TON of sand is left in my hour glass.
And yours too.
It's TIME to rule out all the crap and accomplish things.
What time is it?
Time to get to work
on me.

Just Give Me The Beat Thats All I Need

Hallo-funk-a-ween baby! What a night! So here's the story, Ryan was visiting from San Diego so we decided we wanted to go to the event "Get Freaky." The trouble was that tickets were sold out! But don't hesitate, we've got the connections and we ended up having to meet this guy down in the warehouse part of town but don't worry it was scarier than it sounds. We got V.I.P. tickets which was sooooo nice compared to general admission. It provided a space to escape from all the RETARDED people that attend these things and we got free water and food all night. OH! and we got to skip straight to the front of the line to get in! Krafty Kuts and The Glitch Mob were my two favorite DJ's/Groups that played. I only go to these things for the music, as a matter of fact, I HATE the environment it's so lame.  I love seeing my favorite DJ's perform but I'll be the first to tell you that the culture with this type of music is so trashy and awful it definitely puts a damper on the experience. That said, the feeling of the base consuming your body is quite addicting.  It was super fun we dressed  up as mimes and people LOVED our costumes and were asking if they could take pictures with us and stuff so that was fun. :)

And we got a picture with Ed Ma from the Glitch Mob!!

Workin' it

I just recently started my new job at Tuconos Brazilian Grill. So far, so good! I have only had a couple of shifts but I am really enjoying it. I am that little 19 year old blond girl hostess. :) Smiley faced, I welcome guests into the restaurant and take them back to a table. Easy enough right? The other employees are chill and I'm happy to kick it with them. The food is unreal, if you haven't eaten there yet you are missing out for sure! Get your bum in there. Favorite restaurant hands down and I'm glad I have the opportunity to work there!

How did I miss the 70's

I just so happened across a Carpenters video on Youtube and I've fallen in love with them. I've only heard a few of their hit songs like "Please Mr. Postman" and "Breaking Up is Hard To Do" but some of their slower ballots are so.... so.... I don't even know how to describe it. I'm going through a major Carpenters phase right now and I'm pissed I wasn't alive in the 70's for this brother and sister duo! "On top of the world" makes me melt!!

I Got a Sick Obsession

This past summer Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World came out and I thought it was AMAZING. Before I saw it in theaters, I had no idea that it was based on a comic book and directed in comic book style.  I have never seen a movie quite like this one.  Everything about the movie is cool, the style, the actors, the soundtrack, the quirky puns, the ridiculous fight scenes, the comic book style pop ups, everything, just everything!

After I saw the movie it sparked a small interest in me to read the comic books that the movie was based on. I wasn't completely sold on going out and buying the 6 volume set with each book having a $11.99 price tag. At Crimson Nights up at the University Of Utah, (the first big school party of the year) I was talking with a guy about the movie and comic books.  He told me that he read the comic books and that they were unreal. The way he described them made me want to read them SO bad. Ever since that night I've been mentioning that I want to read them but just haven't gotten to the book store yet. So, Skyler being great, got me Volume 1 as part of my birthday present! I'm currently a little more than half way through and I'm in love :) I highly recommend you start to read the comics with me and see the movie if you haven't yet!
